Community, Living,
Leisure, and In-School
Program (CLLIP)

As part of the educational program, the CLLIP program at HollyDELL teaches skills geared toward life after school. Community-based instruction is provided for students ages 14 and over, consisting of these four components:

• Community involvement

• Skill identification and reinforcement (in school)

• Daily skill development

• Recreational and social activities

We believe that community integration and instruction motivates students to acquire life skills in a natural environment. We teach students to work successfully with partners, increase their on-task time, and learn important socialization skills. Life skills—including cooking, gardening, cleaning, shopping and more—are taught in school and then put into practice in community settings.

Recreational activities offered include swimming, bowling, shopping, dances, museum visits and more. In addition, the integration of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech/language therapy provides essential components of the program, all leading to the student’s success.
